INTRODUCTION

Potassium chlorate holds significant importance across various industries due to its diverse applications. This white crystalline compound has been utilized for centuries as an essential ingredient in the production of matches, fireworks, and explosives, owing to its ability to release oxygen upon decomposition. Additionally, it plays a role in pyrotechnics and as an oxygen source for emergency oxygen systems.

Manufacture
Potassium Chlorate is produced by the salt metathesis reaction of sodium chlorate and Potassium Chloride. The reaction is driven by the low solubility of potassium chlorate in water.
