INTRODUCTION

Ethoxylated hydrogenated castor oil (PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil) is a combination of synthetic polyethylene glycol (PEG) with natural castor oil. It is a multifunctional Oil-in- Water Emulsifier that is a very versatile and multifunctional non-ionic surfactant used as fragrance builder and fragrance solubilizer,emulsifier in cosmetics and as pharmaceutical aid.

MANUFACTURE

It is produced from castor oil by hydrogenating its double bonds and reacting with ethylene oxide, enhancing stability and emulsifying properties.

APPLICATIONS

Ethoxylated hydrogenated castor oil is known for its ability to solubilize oils and enhance the stability and texture of formulations. It is often utilized in creams, lotions, and other cosmetic preparations as an emulsifying agent to create stable emulsions and improve the spread ability of products on the skin.
Used  in various industrial applications, such as in the formulation of pesticides and agricultural chemicals, as well as in the production of lubricants and textile auxiliaries.
As a pharmaceutical aid to solubilize vitamins, water insoluble active substances and essential oils in water or mixtures of water and alcohol.
It is a raw material for the preparation of 12-hydroxystearic acid.
As emulsifier in printing ink industries.
Acts as emulsifier of organophosphorus pesticides.
As O/W type emulsifier for the emulsifying of various vegetable/animal/mineral oils.
As preparation medium for wool and chemical fiber.
As dehydrating agent for crude oil.
